Casa Grande logo
Today is a rainy day. I have therefore been working on some design visuals for a nossa Casa Grande logo.
We’ve recently been excavating a part of the casa that will eventually become known to our guests as Spare ‘oom (C.S. Lewis lovers will appreciate).
When we purchased the casa in 2021, this room consited mainly of broken terractota roof tiles (various designs and from various dates), a plethora of plastics, glass and moss covered stuff, as well as in extraordinary array of old shoes and Yamaha FS1E (aka Fizzy) motorcycle parts.
Also hiding amongst the jute covered earth were a number of broken fragments of old clay earthenware. Treasure!
One piece in particular had an impact on me when it came out of the ground and with my graphic designer hat on, my inspriration had been sparked.

Ultimately the logo you now see across our website and social media is a five petal flower with each petal representing us; Julie and I and our three grown children. The five petal design on the pottery was a perfect fit for my vision of what I wanted our logo to represent. It’s a bit corny I know, but it’s a personal thing and we like it 🙂
