Julie’s on a mission this week, revealing the bread oven and living her best life tackling poke salad roots that are off the scale!!
This room is (will be) fantastic and the oven itself seems to be in a pretty decent condition, although we have no roof, floor or complete walls! We may light the oven it next week when we’ve cleared the chimney. Pizza anyone?
Currently, the bread oven room is a ruin connected to the side and rear of the main house. It catches the valley sun all day long as it passes over, lifting the spirits despite the current heavy work load.

A sure thing when you are renovating a property of this size and condition is that as soon as you start one project you uncover 10 others jobs that need addressing. Also, because it’s a blank canvas at this stage, we have all sorts of ideas pop into the mix, so plans can change quick!
One such idea, which has now become a work in progress, is the building of a patio area using gabion walls.
We’ll updae this page as we start to work on the bread oven room some more and get that pizza on the go!
